Access TLC is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our Home Health team. The Medical Assistant plays a pivotal role in supporting administrative and clinical operations of our home health services. Your primary responsibility involves coordinating and providing medical assistance for patients who receive services in their homes. This position requires meticulous organizational skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient care.

This position is full-time and in our San Fernando office. Work hours are 8:30am-5:30pm Monday through Friday.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

· Schedule and coordinate home visits for patients receiving services at home.

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

· Handle incoming calls, inquiries, and correspondence related to patient care, ensuring timely and appropriate responses.

· Assist in billing and coding processes, including verifying insurance coverage and obtaining pre-authorizations for services rendered.

· Medication record maintenance and reconciliation in the EMR as needed under the supervision of the DOPCS and RN supervisor.

. Provide patient and caregiver education on prescribed treatments, medications, and self-care techniques tailored to the home environment.

· Update patients and families on care plans, appointment schedules, and any changes in treatment protocols.

Job Requirements:

· High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assisting program required.

· Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential or equivalent certification required.

· Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in home health or primary care.

· Proficiency in medical terminology, EMR systems, and basic computer skills.

· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and caregivers.

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

· Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

· Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and empathy for individuals facing health challenges.

· Must have a California Driver’s License, satisfactory driving record and a vehicle that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements. Drivers must be licensed for at least 3 years.
